Line Cook
Position Type: Full-time or Part-time (20-35hrs a week)
We’re looking for a reliable, skilled, and enthusiastic Line Cook to join our kitchen team at The Star Inn, Waldron — a busy village pub serving freshly prepared, seasonal British food in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
About the Role:
As our Line Cook, you’ll work alongside our Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver high-quality dishes during service. You’ll be responsible for prepping and cooking food to spec, maintaining kitchen standards, and supporting the overall flow of the kitchen during busy shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook, and present dishes consistently to a high standard
Manage your station efficiently during prep and service
Follow kitchen procedures and recipes accurately
Keep your workstation clean, organised, and stocked
Support other sections when required and communicate clearly with the kitchen team
Ensure food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are followed at all times
Help with stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients
Contribute to a positive, respectful kitchen environment
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience in a professional kitchen (pub or restaurant experience preferred)
Strong cooking skills and a good understanding of kitchen operations
Ability to stay calm, organised, and focused during busy periods
Positive attitude, good communication skills, and team spirit
Attention to detail and a commitment to consistency and quality
Willingness to learn and take direction
